The Enger & Olson building was constructed in 1893 in Duluth’s West End (now known as Lincoln Park). It featured retail shops at street level and apartments above—designed to serve both residents and local businesses.

Enger & Olson Move In

1909 
A New Era Begins

Bert Enger and Emil Olson moved their successful furniture business into the building. In time, they purchased it outright and renamed it the Enger & Olson Block.

The Enger & Olson furniture store closed its doors in 1971 after decades of service. However, the building continued housing other furniture retailers for years.

The historic building was thoughtfully restored into Enger Lofts—a unique blend of boutique hotel, modern apartments, and local marketplace. It honors its past while offering elevated living for today.
